Description: A Josef Kuba beautiful cobalt blue and gold Love Story/Fragonard lidded tureen and underplate made in Bavaria, Germany. A stunning and elegant well preserved vintage set in near mint condition. No cracks, chips or repairs.Has a few minor scratches consistent with age. It appears this item was featured by the former owner as a displayitem and never actually used. The tureen, lid and underplate are decorated with recurring images of courting couples and embellished with extensive amounts of gold gilt. The tureen has a ruffled embossed style base, a notch for a ladle and a gold decorative handle/finial on the lid - which also has a ruffled border. The Kuba mark of authenticity is displayed on the bottom of the tureen and plate. The rare cobalt blue color contrasts beautifully with the gold. A collectible item....
