Completely Untouched with Amazing raised Heart Motif Scrimshaw with initials: "WH". This Horn probably made for the soldier as a gift from a family member or loved one or the initials represent the name of hid sweetheart. Nicely Carved Spout and nice Dark Tan to Dark Brown Patina. A Small Priming Horn possibly cut of from a larger body. Just a Fabulous looking Folk Art Piece from top to bottom! plug has a period brass tack and a nail which holds one end of the horn. a partial piece of paper is attached to the plug and may have been a label of some sort. We believe this came out of New England and was used in the Revolutionary War but could have been used into the early 19th century. Condition is Very Good, a Solid Powder Horn with usual light scratches, soiling and small dings.(Note Images) This is an Ex-Museum Piece which had previously been on display in a Private Collection in Worcester, Massachusetts for many years!
