Description: This is a very rare UK original mono record of "Calendar Girl" by the jazz diva Julie London. It features a beautiful and elegant purple label, representing one of the earliest pressings. The playback quality is very good. While the US original pressing has a maroon label and is also beautiful and rare, this UK version is even more stunning and quite unusual. The jacket is a luxurious flip-back design typical of UK releases, and it is made with a coating that adds to its quality. The sound quality is superior to that of the US original album, matching the debut release. The orchestral background is exceptional, and the concept album features songs themed around the months from January to December, with Julie's vocal style changing each month. Her performance is remarkable, showcasing a mature calmness that surpasses even her debut album. Julie London is not only a talented singer but also a beautiful actress. This album served as the inspiration for Eiichi Ohtaki's "Niagara Calendar." The jacket shows some age-related wear but is quite clean for a 1950s release, with no significant surface dirt. The disc has some visible scratches when held to the light, but considering its 60-year age, it is still in very good condition. Playback is very good, with only slight noise detected in my environment, which does not detract from the enjoyment, and there are no skips. It should be fine for those accustomed to listening to used records. This album is quite popular, but UK original pressings have become scarce, and it is not simply a matter of paying to acquire it. Due to its rarity, I am hesitant to part with it and will not significantly reduce the price, although I have not listened to it much and would be willing to let it go if sold. I ask that only those who understand the nature of used records consider purchasing. Discounts may be offered for bulk purchases. Please note that due to the nature of the product, returns and refunds are not accepted. I do not smoke and have no pets. Thank you for your understanding.
