Description: VERY EXCEPTIONAL MICRO BEADED VICTORIAN HANDBAG Up for your consideration please find this beautiful antique Victorian micro beaded handbag with an art deco design. It is black with silver designs of flowers and symbolic scrolls. There are an incredible number of micro beads per square inch. It is amazing work, all done by hand over 100 years ago. It is a gorgeous bag probably from the late 19th Century or early 20th Century. The beads are of a dark black color for the background and the design beads are actually a silver-type bead that reflects the colors around it. There are no reds nor pinks in the beads of this purse but because the photos were taken with a pink background, the design elements of this purse appear pink. In daylight the purse appears black and silver. Very sorry for the poor images. Pink makes a bad background color for this treasure. The purse is in excellent original condition and it appears all of the original beads are intact. The inside of the bag is the original black cloth lined with a lace of a golden color. The inside of the bag is in fine condition with no holes nor any damage. There are just a couple of very small spots on the inside where the cloth is slightly less black, but overall it is almost pristine. The bag without the chain is 8" inches in height and 6" inches in width. The original metal chain is 11.5" inches in length. The top clasp is in the shape of a flower and it works perfectly. One merely has to press down on the top clasp to open the purse. The small back outer pull is beaded and is also in very fine condition. Thank you for your interest.
