Description: Fabulous late 1950's- early 60's Alberto Fabiani formal dress. Alberto Fabiani was a designer from Italy in the 1950-60's. He retired in the early 1970's. His garments are on display in the costume institute at The MET. The dress is in overall good condition. There are some spots along the hem on the panels that do not have a lace overlay and some discoloration on lining near the armholes. This can't been seen when worn with the busyness of the lace overlay. I have not attempted to have it cleaned. I took photos of some small spots where there is damage to the lace. The dress features beige taffeta fabric with a brown lace overlay and pleated tulle sewn in the gores on the full skirt. There are copper beads and rhinestone embellishments sewn on the bodice and front two panels. Impeccable tailoring throughout. Carefully stored for decades. There is a side zipper that works well and no odor from storage. There are two string belt loops but no belt. Vintage size 16, small-medium based on measurements. Measurements (lying flat): Underarm to underarm 19", Length 45", Waist 13", Length from strap 43", Length from waist 28"
