It is ready for another 5 decades of service. I have added a thick moose skin leather handle wrap using pounded copper rivets and two gun-metal snaps. I intentionally left the end of the wrap with the rugged edge of the moose hide. I like the buckskin color as it contrasts with the brown duffle and British tan Abercrombie & Fitch shoulder strap. Moose leather is really durable and does not crack like cowhide can when it gets wet. So when making a handle it is perfect as it will last a very long time and wear well. Moose skin is my favorite leather and when you pick up this bag by the handle wrap you will know immediately why; it is so pleasing to touch.It is a true heirloom quality item and extremely rare. (I have been selling bags for over a decade and have never seen one like it!)The size is XL and perfect for a hunting trip or cabin get-away; enough room for a week's worth of gear. The leather is super flexible and made to last a lifetime. It is clean. I have reconditioned the duffel and it is all flexible leather. It has a true warm distressed patina. I crafted a shoulder strap using a vintage Abercrombie & Fitch men's belt, transforming it into something unique. To ensure durability, I incorporated robust gut metal steel bolt-snaps on both ends. For attachment, I opted for a sturdy piece of Moose skin leather, secured with hammered copper rivets and reinforced with moose leather washers. This design provides comfort regardless of where it rests on your shoulder due to its consistent width along the entire strap. They can get easily damaged and dirty.
