At their peak of production, the Bauers employed about 50 workers in their factory who handcrafted each piece with Swarovski stones. This was unusual at the time as more and more jewelry manufacturing moved away from the United States to Asia in the early 1980s.Bauer’s often-whimsical designs garnered quite a loyal following among collectors for more than two decades. Much to their disappointment, the company went out of business in 2008.This stunning pin features a mermaid with emerald green and crystal rhinestones and long chains for hair. The head is an oval rhinestone and slightly turned to the side. High-end attributes such as: quality stones, prong set stones, dimensional, and highly detailed. No missing or darkened stones.
