Description: RARE VNTG - Science for Everybody: Animals of the Past (F. Lucas; 1901) 1st ed. This is an extremely rare book. There is some definite wear and tear to this book both inside and out. The cover is faded with some scratching. There is definite fraying around the edges and the corners and spine are smashed/ The spine contains a library code as this is an ex-library book. There are several spots throughout the book where separation from the binding is certainly visible. The inside front cover has the remnants of a library stamp while the inside front cover page has the remnants of a personal library stamp. This book is fully illustrated from 41 photo plates of the time period. There is tissue paper separating the first photo and the title/copyright page. The first page of the table of contents has identifying numbers written in red along the bottom as well as a fingerprint smudge on the outer edge. The illustrations page has a small pen scratch at the middle bottom edging. Pages 1 - 3 appear to have had some sort of liquid staining. Pages 87 - 90 have fully separated from the binding but are unharmed and found in the appropriate placing. Throughout the remainder of the book there is smudging and staining which one would expect in accordance to the age and history of the book. The rear cover page has the remnants of the first checkout slip from at least 1936. The rear inside cover has remnants of a library pocket along with some numerical figures and writing.
