Aside from distilled water, there is malt, animal dexterous and a natural antibiotic which will either inhibit bacterial growth or go extremely cloudy soon after inoculation to tell you somethings wrong. This jar can be used multiple times over and should be and everyone's mycology bag. Usually a magnetic bar would be placed in the jar to place on a magnetic spinning machine to break up the mycelium growth as it propagates. However, knowing that not everyone has this type of machinery, i instead added one or two glass marbles to the jar and order to break up the mycelium manually.
