Description: Large Piece Of Fenway Park's Left Field Wall Up From 1947-1975 Impressive and very hard to find 12 x 12" section of Fenway Park's Green Monster, up on the Wall from 1947 through 1975. After the Sox' World Series season of 1975, the team's ownership decided to completely replace the left field wall which was a patchwork mess at that time. The new Green Monster was installed in uniform two-foot wide panels, which are still in place today. These wall pieces were sold in two sizes: 3x5 inches and 12 x 12 inches, to raise money for The Jimmy Fund, a New England based cancer charity. In my nearly 40 years of collecting, I have seen literally hundreds of the 3x5" paperweights, but less than 20 of the 12 x 12" sections like this one. My last photo above shows the difference in the two sizes, with a couple pictured I previously sold a few years ago. Overall condition is Excellent, with only light surface wear on the plexy cover and the wood border/frame. A must-have for any real stadium collector, or serious Red Sox collector. I know only four or five longtime Sox collectors that possess one of these. My last photo in the listing shows a similar 12 x 12" piece on display at the National Ballpark Museum in Denver. The very knowledgeable owner Bruce Hellerstein (a great guy !!!) purchased it from me about 5 or 6 years ago. Will be carefully packaged and shipped to the new owner. $25.00 shipping. If it ends up being less, I will reimburse the buyer.
