Description: REDUCED:A large and vibrant antique Mexican wool serape. My parents brought this back home from Mexico in 1948. It was then stored in a blanket chest until last year, when I settled their estate and brought it home with me. Never used or displayed, the colors remain rich and the fabric and silk fringe are in excellent antique/vintage condition. Measuring 98" long and 50" wide, it features a traditional serrated eye of god center medallion, other decorative motifs, and a dramatic 6" hand-knotted macrame silk fringe on both ends. There is no damage, wear, or fading. No odors. I noted a small smudge which I've highlighted in the second-to-last photo. I was able to brush much of it off after taking the photos but it's still visible if you look for it. This is a lovely, fresh example of Mexican textile art from an earlier era. I ship within one business day of receiving payment.
