Description: This attractive necklace hangs down approx 20” from one end of the cord to the end of the crosses. The medallion is made of brass-colored metal with a ceramic center stone. The crosses are molded from some type of light resin material. The Sun Stone, or Piedra del Sol, is a representation of the Aztec concept of time, its cyclical nature, and the relationship between the gods and humans. Scholars believe that the Aztec Sun Stone was used as a sacrificial offering plate, serving only ritualistic purposes. The Stone was most likely laid down flat on an altar area.
