Description: HERE IS A TYPED PERSONAL LETTER, SIGNED BY MEMPHIS STATE UNIVERSITY TIGERS HEAD COACH REX DOCKERY (WHO DIED DECEMBER 12, 1983). THE LETTER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, MEASURES 8" X 10 1/2", IS DATED SEPTEMBER 17, 1982. THE LETTER IS ON OFFICIAL MEMPHIS STATE UNIVERSITY STATIONARY. JOHN "REX" DOCKERY WAS THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT MEMPHIS STATE UNIVERISITY (IS NOW THE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS) FROM 1981 UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 1983. COACH DOCKERY HAD A RECORD OF 8-24-1 (HIS FIRST 2 SEASONS, HIS TEAM HAD A 1-10 RECORD/HIS LAST SEASON HE WAS 6-4). COACH DOCKERY DIED IN A TRAGIC PLANE CRASH DECEMBER 12, 1983. LATER IN DECEMBER, 1983, THE PLAYING SURFACE AT LIBERTY BOWL STADIUM WAS NAMED "REX DOCKERY FIELD". COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY FROM BROTHERPREACHER COLLECTIBLES.
