Description: This lovely Ridgways (or Ridgway) flow blue pitcher and luncheon plate are part of the antique Osborne line. Both feature a bold cobalt floral pattern on a light white base. These pieces are very old (approximately 1905) but are still very beautiful. The pitcher, which is not an easy piece to find, stands 7 inches tall and has a diameter at its opening of 4.5 inches. It has no chips and no crazing, but it has lost a fair amount of its decorative gold outline. Its interior is in wonderful condition, minus a small crack on its side that is barely visible from the outside (see 3rd to last photo). Its gloss and shine remain spectacular. There are a few small spots around the rim of the pitcher that show some flaking (see last two photos). There are also some signs of wear on its bottom. The 9-inch Osborne scalloped luncheon plate fits perfectly under the pitcher. It does have crazing and two small chips on its outer rim, as well as some scratching in its white center. There is discoloration around the rim of the plate and signs of wear on its underside. While I point out flaws for accuracy, they do not detract from the vivid, deep-blue beauty of these two pieces, especially when presented together as part of an Osborne collection or a flow blue collection of any kind. The undersides of both pieces say "Ridgways England Royal Semi-Porcelain Osborne" with the number 2. The plate is also marked 15 and has the number 13 inscribed on its underside.
