WHY THIS WATCHFor nearly two decades, Breitling has been collaborating with the luxury car manufacturer, Bentley. In 2021, it was announced that the two brands would be ending their collaboration. It all started in 2002 when Bentley introduced an onboard Breitling Clock inside the cabin of their Continental GT.This particular example, the Barnato, is a limited edition and was named after Joel Woolf Barnato, who is well known for being one of the Bentley Boys that won the prestigious Le Mans race three times with Bentley. The Barnato is a technical tour de force with its 30-second chronograph and a set of unique subdials that utilize rotating wheels instead of the usual rotating micro hands. The Barnato Racing incorporates a disc-type display that rotates to indicate the reading, adjacent to a red arrowhead pointer. Not only is this unique display mechanism enchanting to behold, but it is also visually efficient. This is made possible by Breitling’s Calibre 25B, which also includes a date display and is COSC-certified, like all Breitling movements. The entire movement can be clearly seen through the sapphire case back, which includes a beautifully sculpted winding rotor designed to look like a Bentley alloy wheel.The Breitling A25366 is powered by the Caliber 25B, an automatic, COSC-certified chronometer movement based on the ETA 2892-A2. It features 38 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. Enhanced with a unique 30-second chronograph mechanism, the 25B exemplifies Breitling's commitment to precision, reliability, and technical innovation in watchmaking.On the wrist, this is a very large and heavy watch. I'm very surprised that it fit on my wrist, despite its 49mm size. This is a testament to the well-thought-out ergonomics which have resulted in a remarkably comfortable watch to wear. Besides the beefy wrist presence, the real star of the show is the dial. I love watching the second totalizers go around. It's something like a retrograde indicator, which is a nice change from the normal pointer indices we are used to on chronographs. THE LITTLE DETAILSThe watch is from 2011. The watch is in overall excellent condition, with only minor wear on the case and bracelet. I'd give this watch a 9/10 overall. The chronometer movement is running strong without issues. The watch has retained it's original PRE-COMEX type Rolex dial. Pre-COMEX dials are one of the most rare variations of the 5513 matte dials and show a coronet that is smudgy and very fat at the bottom. The watch is 9.5/10 overall with only some light surface wear on the case around the lugs. Comes with a Rolex Service Travel box, outer box, 2012 Warranty Card and 2024 Warranty Card. This watch does not come with the bracelet as it was misplaced by the original owner and will come with a leather band only.
