Description: Putting this wonderful paperback cover painting by Rowena Morrill up for sale. This original artwork was created to grace the cover of “Retief: Diplomat at Arms” by Keith Laumer, published by Timescape/Pocket Books in 1982. It was subsequently used as the cover art for the German novel “Das Exil Der Messianer” by Andreas Brandhorst and Horst Pukallus, published by Ullstein in 1986. It was also used for a Dutch translation of Oregon Scott Card’s “Speaker is the Dead” (Spreker voor de Doden”), published by Meulenhoff in 1988. The medium is Oil on board with an image size of 16” x 26”. Open front framed. I purchased this directly from Rowena a few years ago before she passed away. There is some scuffing in the lower left quadrant near her signature, but it doesn’t detract from the main image. See photos. Published covers are for reference only.
