Designed by Carl Martin-Hansen, the series was meant as a gift from the women of Denmark to King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine on their 25th wedding anniversary in 1923. The series features children of the territories of Denmark under the King's rule at the time. These territories included the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Slesvig, Fano Island and Sjaelland. The costumes are true renditions of Danish regional costumes which were worn in each Danish province at the time that this series of figurines were created in the 1920s.Measures approximately 5-1/2" tall.
