Description: Great specimen of Chromium bearing Muscovite Mica, Fantastic (though small) Rutile crystals, well formed Siderite crystals etc. from Boiling Springs, North Carolina. This is a part of a larger rock sample that I broke into a few pieces to get a better look at some non weathered features. The Mica shows a green color from the Chromium impurity mostly on the freshly broken side. Other than the large excellent grouping the Rutile is scattered and sometimes well hidden around the rock, behind other minerals etc. Using magnification is highly recommended to search around this specimen to see all of these wonderful minerals. Excellent and unique collection sample. Handle with care, some loose minerals on the broken side and you may loose a small Siderite or Mica crystal when handling.
