From Western Australia, the sandalwood is deadwood – that is, Sandalwood that has naturally died and collected from the desert floors of Western Australia. Premium Sandalwood Powder Sandalwood has been used as a holy incense since the beginning of time. Early on, people observed that Sandalwood was never attacked by termites, which may have led to its reputation as a protective wood. The scent is believed to be one of the most pleasing to the gods. It is believed to have cooling and soothing properties, and to direct one’s attention toward the divine realms. It is popular in blended incense and combines well with the sacred resins Frankincense and Myrrh. The Sandalwood Premium Powder is a finer grade, and with high oil content, than the Incense Powder. This makes it ideal for use in many applications including cosmetics, as well as incense making. Premium Superfine Sandalwood Powder is made from Western Australian Wild Sandalwood that has naturally died in the desert and collected from the desert floor. This powder is a premium superfine powder similar consistency to a talcum powder. This powder has around 1.5% essential oil content and is often used in cosmetics for mud masks, in soap or gentle exfoliant. Traditionally used to reduce redness, colour spots and inflammation. Mix with rose water or milk for a simple mask treatment. Incense Powder is made from the middle part of the tree and has very little oil content. This powder is made specifically for incense and burning. Same particle size and the Premium Sandalwood Powder. Can be burned on its own by making a little pyramid in a heat proof dish and lighting the top. Incense Finishing Powder is the same grade as the incense powder, just a finer particle, similar consistency to talcum powder. It is too fine to use in making incense cones, as they need some space for the oxygen to help with burning and this one becomes like a paste when wet. Unless it is blended with the sawdust or agarwood spent charge, or something to allow oxygen to pass through when burning or it wont burn to the bottom. It can be used to roll incense in when making to coat the outside so that when the incense is lit the sandalwood aroma is still present. Produces a lot of smoke if burned on its own as described for the other powders, so we suggest if burning like this to make sure it is a well ventilated area. Sandalwood Sawdust The Sawdust is a perfect addition to use in incense burners to add the relaxing aroma of sandalwood for meditation, relaxation, prayer and ceremonies. Showing wood grains as it has a larger particle size then our Sandalwood powder, perfect for incense cones and soaps. Sandalwood Chips The large chips vary in shape and size but are approximately 5 – 8cm in length. The small chips are around 1cm in size. See the photos.
