It is quite remarkable that Europe was able to bounce back from such a disaster, but even as it did, the reconstruction took many years, and it wasn’t until the 1960s that things started to look relatively normal. Then there was the Iron Curtain and what went on in the countries occupied by the Soviets. A daunting story to tell, but essential to understanding where current day European attitudes and political approaches come from. This 2013 Trade Paperback is in good condition, with some slight water damage to the bottom edges of the first dozen pages or so, but otherwise no internal markings, and a cover with modest wear.
