SCARCE TV tie-in hb FAT ALBERT & THE COSBY KIDS: FOUR EYES (Superscope 1st 1985)

Description: Vintage TV Tie-In "Fat Albert" hardback by an unusual publisher. Superscope was a technology company in Chatsworth California that originally produced wide-screen motion pictures for less cost than Cinemascope, and then moved into audio technologies, distributing early Sony products and aquiring Marantz. Besides standard educational and fairy tale titles, they published a line of children's "Tele-Story" tie-in books for "Gumby," "Golden Girl & the Guardians of the Gemstones," and the Don Bluth video-game franchises "Space Ace" and "Dragon's Lair." The books are exactly the same size and design as Whitman's Tell-A-Tale books. See my store for other vintage books, and buy multiple titles to save on shipping! For multiple books, avoid the "Buy It Now" option. Instead, choose "Add To Cart" for each book, then go to your cart and click on the button to request an invoice. Safely packed and shipped via USPS Book Rate. If you prefer a faster method, just let me know, and I can update your order before you pay. "Fat Albert & The Cosby Kids" was based on Bill Cosby's stand-up routine about his childhood, and became a series after an initial animated short. "Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert" (1969) only aired twice, and featured uncredited cel work by Disney Animator Floyd Norman. It was never televised again as it was then sold to Pailey Center for Media. From Wikipedia: Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids is an American animated television series created, produced, and hosted (in live action bookends) by comedian Bill Cosby, who also lent his voice to a number of characters, including Fat Albert and himself. Filmation was the production company for the series. The show premiered in 1972 and ran until 1985 (with new episodes being produced sporadically during that time frame). The show, based on Cosby's remembrances of his childhood gang, focused on Fat Albert (known for his catchphrase "Hey hey hey!"), and his friends. The show features an educational lesson in each episode, emphasized by Cosby's live-action segments. In addition, at the end of the early episodes, the gang typically joins in their North Philadelphia junkyard to play a song on their cobbled-together instruments, summarizing the show's lesson.
