Lighthouse Literature Mission (LLM) postcards were issued between 1910 and 1914 to help finance the LLM mission which was to supply isolated lighthouse keepers with reading material. To help sell unsold postcards, some were re-issued in 1917 and 1918 with excerpts of the annual report of the LLM printed on the back (including letters from keepers). Those postcards, many of them based on photographs sent by keepers, have become collector's items and many are very scarce.
