Scott 299-B Amplifier: Telefunken 12ax7: Mullard 7189, 5ar4, 6bl8 Tubes: Works!

Description: H. H. Scott Stereomaster 299-B Tube Stereo AmplifierTelefunken, Mullard, and Scott Tubes4 Cone Shaped Metal Tube Shields This H. H. Scott Amp has been tested (see list below) and is in good working condition. Read below for a list of what was confirmed working. It does not have the cover. It is a little dirty and could use a good cleaning on top. The power cord does not have any cracking. The pots are scratchy and have not been deoxed or lubricated. There is no top cover. The four cone shaped metal tube covers/ shields are included but are not shown installed. These go on the four 12ax7 tubes. The tubes were tested, recently prior to this listing, on a Hickok 752A tester. (I have been testing and selling vacuum tubes since 2009). All tubes tested good. There is one 12ax7 tube that was good but a little less than the other similar tubes. I will have the tubes baggied with the test results in each respective bag. The tubes will be removed and padded for shipping. I may decide to ship the tubes in a separate package. Photos show the amplifier, tubes, and the four metal tube covers that are for sale in this listing. I did not notice any loudness change on Extra and tuner inputs.Speaker connections for 8 ohms Note about tested components: my designation of working does not mean that they are perfect. For example, the volume works fine, but there is some scratchiness when adjusting the volume. I did not test the following:RCA - Tape OututRCA - Center Channel OutputRCA - PlaybackRCA - MAG 2 Low InputRCA - MAG 2 High Input Speaker connections other than 8 ohms Photos are of the actual item for sale in this listing. (I will try to add more photos of the tubes shortly.) Read below and feel free to ask any specific questions. Observations: There are two ceramic resistors that are broken. You can see them in the top view in the last photo. There is a third one that is not broken. In the underneath views you can see that the two broken resistors have been replaced. The replacements are under the chassis with the rest of the electronics. The Tubes:All tubes are tested on a Hickok 752a Tester using the Hickock settings. All tubes are given a few minutes to warm before the test. Each tube will be placed in a separate bag with a sheet with the test results.Results: All tubes tested very good to excellent with one exception: One 12ax7 Telefunken tube tested above the minimum, but less than the other three 12ax7 tubes. Three of the 12ax7 tubes are Telefunken Tubes. One is a IEC Mullard tube. The 6LB8 tubes are labeled H. H. Scott. I am not sure who the manufacturer of these was (maybe Mullard?).The 7186 Tubes are labeled IEC by Mullard.The 5AR4 tube is labeled IEC by Mullard.[Let me know if you want to see the actual tube test numbers for each tube.] Restoration: The only work done on this unit is a simple cleaning of dirt and dust. There is still more. Mostly on the top surfaces since the unit was used without the top cover. The underneath section has little to no dirt and dust. NOTE: Other items shown in the photos are not included in this listing. This listing includes the 299-b unit, the vacuum tubes, the 4 metal tube covers.
