It is the 2001 American Bison coil issue. The 21c self-adhesive pair is serpentine die cut 8½ vert. Carl Herrman designed the colorful definitives and Avery Dennison printed them. The bison is sometimes mistakenly called a "buffalo". The versatile 21c rate paid 2nd ounce postage from January until July 2001. It then covered the postcard rate from July 2001 to June 2002. There are significant differences between stamps from plate V1111 and re-engraved plate V2222 deserving minor number status. Scott catalogue does not recognize this and the type will be at our discretion.
