The majority of the scrapbook (107pp) collects articles about and images of ships, including contemporary reports, historical articles, photos and dramatized illustrations, and portraits of notable sailors and crews. The bulk of this section deals with steamships, though there are 14pp of images on sailing ships and yachts, including images dated to 1899.
