Description: Near Mint Seabury Book of Common Prayer BCP 1928 Protestant Episcopal Leather 4811 N864 This is a beautiful and rather small Book of Common Prayer according to the 1928 edition for use in the Protestant Episcopal church. This is a lovely little compact edition for on the go devotion. Please look at the certification page if that is important to you. The language of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer truly is remarkable and worthy of at least investigation for those desiring to enrich their life in prayer and worship. The typeface is highly readable, especially considering its size, which is one of the smallest editions I’ve ever seen, just a bit thicker than other similar editions. This is aided by superior paper quality that what you will find in modern editions. The pictures make this abundantly clear. The single column format is beautiful! It has beautiful gilding that appears untouched and without any noticeable scratch that I can tell. I found no writing in the text, though there is an inscription on the blank intro page. It’s a beautiful edition with moderately flexible leather. While it is imitation leather, the imitation leather of the 50s and 60s is superior to today’s bonded and sometimes “genuine” leather. I noticed no abrasion at all to the leather. The slight white spots on the leather I was able to clean off after taking the pictures. All signatures were tight and it was clearly never used.
