Sega CD Model 1 MK-1601 - All New Capacitors, Drive Belt, and Battery

Description: For sale is a Sega CD Model 1 MK-1601 that has been refurbished and upgraded with the following: All new electrolytic capacitors on the mainboard, sub-board, CD drive board, and optical pickup. The original SMD capacitors and capacitors near the voltage regulator on Model 1 Sega CDs are prone to leaking. This Sega CD had no leaking capacitors on any of the boards, which is rare, but new longer life Japanese capacitors were installed in place of the old ones. New LDO voltage regulator on the sub board with new thermal paste. This regulator operates cooler than the original one. New rubber drive belt, repaired helical gear (they crack consistently in all I've serviced from age/wear), and new lubricant on the CD drive Any cracked plastic on the CD drive base was reinforced with epoxy. Some cracking from age is common on Sony-made Sega CD drives New ML2032 rechargeable battery with battery holder for the SRAM backup internal memory. This Sega CD has been tested and works with retail Sega CD games, quality burned CD-R games, and audio CDs. The listing only includes the Sega Sega Model 1 console. No power supply is included, but a Model 1 Sega Genesis power supply is compatible. This Sega CD has some noticeable wear to the exterior shell (dings, scratches, etc.). I've significantly reduced the price from my usual refurbished Sega CD Model 1 consoles to account for this. I'm picky with condition and would consider this console as more of a functional unit and less of a collector's grade piece. This Sega CD will ship via UPS Ground.
