Description: This is a fully functional and great sounding classic silver face 70's Marantz 2230 Receiver. If you are going to spend the money on a vintage silver face ,.. it's well worth it to pay the extra to get a unit that has been serviced like this. This has been recently serviced by expert stereo tech , Larry Bay. Larry does excellent work. He set the output bias , fixed the tuning meter circuit, replaced lamps with new , bright warm LED lamps that will never go bad, cleaned the controls , and calibrated the tuner. This has no issues. All caps were measured to be good, and none were replaced... and this is a good thing, because it allows this receiver to maintain original spec with original components. Not modified. I have seen these vintage Marantz receivers ruined with bad recap jobs with cheap Chinese capacitors. This is perfect to it's original spec design. These 2230 receivers are considered the " sweet spot " for Marantz, with enough power to push most speakers, and warm, tube like fidelity. This is unmodified, original spec. All knobs and inputs are tested and work perfectly. Two of the push button covers are near exact aftermarket replacements, and they are a few millimeters taller than the originals, but his is not really noticeable . Also, it has a serial number lightly etched into the silver face on the upper right side ( to the right of the lettering ) but this is also hardly noticeable, and it was hard to capture in my picture. Quality made in Japan during the Silver Face 70's era. No dents or scratches or rust. Better than the majority of the Marantz out here. This is an amazing unit that sounds as beautiful as it looks.
