On a chilly evening in March of 1968, Jimi Hendrix asked a young Seymour W. Duncan to walk his guitar up onstage. That Strat was loaded with pickups Seymour had wound just for Jimi, and that unforgettable night would set in motion Seymour’s future - and his legacy almost five decades later. Now you can be a bit closer to Jimi’s world with our Jimi Hendrix Signature Strat Set Like Jimi’s music, the Jimi Hendrix Signature Strat Set pickups have their roots in the traditional but with an eye on the future. Each is custom wound for a richer, melodic tone. The bridge model has an aggressive attack that cuts through while staying true to his iconic lead tone. The neck pickup sounds thick and full and is great for chord work, bluesy melodies, double-stops and Jimi’s signature hybrid chord/melody style. And in the in-between positions there’s plenty of that classic Strat ‘quack.’ To help you to get even closer to Jimi’s earth-shattering tone, each pickup is made with a reverse magnet stagger to capture the effect of playing a right-handed guitar upside-down and restrung for a lefty. Resistance 6.5k Hand-wired 1960's style Fender Stratocaster wiring harness upgrade for American or Mexican Fender Stratocasters -This wiring set up features CTS Dish Back 250k Vintage style potentiometers, a .1uf ceramic disk capacitor like what was used in Fender Stratocasters during the late 50's through most of the 60's, a 3 way switch and vintage style pull back cloth wire. -The .1uf ceremic disc capacitor affects a wider sweep on the the high and mid frequencies. When the tone is all the way up on 10 you will notice the sound is a little warmer with slightly rounded off highs. When the tone is almost all the way rolled back it produces a warm, creamy, fuzzy tone. The .1uf cap was originally used in old teles to try to emulate the tone of a bass guitar. -Wired to vintage spec with a master volume, the middle tone controls the neck pickup and the bottom tone controls the middle pickup. There is no tone for the bridge pickup. Send us a message if you want tone control for the bridge. -The CTS vintage style pots have a shorter threaded bushing designed for a stratocaster pickguard. The backs of the pots have the 'dish back' indent like many of the pots used in the 50's and 60's. -This has a 3 way switch like the strats in the 50's and 60's.
