The bowl is shiny and very beautiful. There is a flaw along the top of the rim. See picture. On the outside of the bowl there is a ruff spot possible very tiny chip. See picture. I did not see a chip I only notice the ruff spot by touch. There is also a picture with a pen to mark the spot. It does not effect the bowl or the beauty of the bowl. Made in Slovakia.
