Signal-One Milspec 1030 Vintage Ham Radio Transceiver w/ Box (140+ watts out)

Description: This Signal-One transceiver is in really good cosmetic condition for it's age. The fan is covering up the serial number plate, but I'm guessing the small tag attached to the back has all the info. It reads "0302433 W7 WA". The front panel looks great and the cabinet has just a few small scratches on it. The display is nice and bright. All controls seem to be turning smoothly with nothing frozen in place. Here's what we've discovered about this particular radio:The transceiver is putting out 140-150 watts (depending on the band).A potential buyer tested the radio yesterday (10/10/24) and felt that the RX sensitivity was low. The connector that goes to the optical encoder is very touchy and must be making good contact, else the VFO does not work.The 9V battery that works for memory wis corroded. The battery holder will need to be replaced. Signal-One radios are very difficult to work on and have a reputation of being finicky. With all this in mind, I've made the decision to lower the price and sell the radio as-is with the assumption there are likely some issues we missed.Please don't buy this radio and expect to get something that's 100% up to factory spec! If you're not qualified to work on radios (or are unwilling to pay someone who is), please save us both from a headache and do not buy this radio! The radio comes in a genuine Signal-One box complete with foam inserts. This will be placed in another double-wall box which will ensure a safe delivery.
