The obverse of the medal depicts a bas-relief of the person of Nicholas II. At the edge of the medal along the rim inscription: B. M. NICHOLAS II EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT ALL RUSSIA (Б. М. НИКОЛАЙ II ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОСС). On the reverse of the medal inscription in two lines: CROWNED IN MOSCOW (КОРОНОВАНЪ ВЪ МОСКВѢ). Above the inscription shows great imperial crown.
