It has a handy magnet built-in so it'll stick to anything metal and is good for mounting where needed.The set-up is pretty simple and intuitive; I barely had to look at the instructions at all. The battery installation was the only thing that stumped me for a few minutes. The inside of the battery compartment showed a + symbol so I assumed the plus side of the battery should go in that way, but the opposite was the case. Maybe I was having a 'senior moment' and doing it wrong, but if you get one of these and the battery doesn't work, flip it over and see if that does the trick.As far as accuracy, I'm still trying to find enough reference to compare to the readings on this device. The programming instructions are clear, and it took me just two minutes to set it up. I tested this against a friend's hygrometer, and it's accurate. I get minor hot flashes, and I often wonder "is it hot in here or is it just me." I have this on my desk, and now I can tell with just a glance—yep, it's just me. I also like monitoring the humidity for the health of my skin, eyes, and sinuses. If I see that the humidity is too dry, I can break out the humidifier BEFORE I get symptoms (dry wrinkly skin, irritated eyes and sinuses), and I can see when I do not need to run a humidifier. You can set the time in 12-hour a.m./p.m. or 24-hour military time.
