Description: This is a Navajo horsehair pot; upon firing, horsehair is thrown in handfuls onto the surface and the heat permanently etches it into the clay. This pot is not hand coiled; rather, these tourist pots are made as greenware is, but hand glazed and fired. The pot is 5" tall, 5" diameter, and the mouth is 2-1/3" diameter. This is probably not made to hold water. It's a very nice little ornamental piece.
