Whether these are woven from leather or a synthetic has been the subject of lively discussion here at NextStage headquarters. There is some fiber fraying on the edges so we're pretty sure they're synthetic. And the company dissolved in 1980 so we can't call them to ask. Great for decor or for use with minor repairs, some maintenance and new bindings. SIZE 15x30 CONDITION good - 2 small cracks in the wood toward the front around a lacing that would need repair. The leather/synthetic is still supple, although could use treatment. Small amount of mildew spotting on the bindings that would come off with a proper cleaning by someone who knows how to do such a thing. No mildew smell. This is a vintage item.
