Description: This 1973 stereo LP from London Records (CSO-1000) was "produced exclusively as a membership bonus for Members of the Chicago Symphony Society" and was not sold in stores. It is a recording of Sir Georg Solti rehearsing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, accompanied by the Chicago Symphony Chorus (directed by Margaret Hillis). (The complete recording of the finished performance is sold separately as London Records CSP-8.) Album notes are in English. The inner sleeve shows a full-size photo of the CSO in rehearsal on one side (see Photo 3), and Margaret Hillis with Chorus members on the other side. (Photo 4) The inner sleeve has a very slight split at bottom center. The outer sleeve shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back.
