Sony SLV-50 4 Head VHS VCR RMT-259 Remote & Manual

Description: I am offering up this rare VCR for parts or restoration / repair. Vintage Sony SLV-50 (Not to be mistaken for an SLV-N50)Serial number - 831564 Here's what's wrong with it - The transport has a small arm with a gear that is broken - It's part of the loading mechanism. The audio is a little "warbley" for lack of a better word - you can hear it in the demonstration video - There is no longer the top, flip open cover on the remote - I uploaded to youtube. By manipulating the mechanism and the tape, I managed to get the tape loaded and after a few tries, I got it to play back the tape. It's tricky and getting the tape to load and is inconsistent. I also opened the bottom and remove a disintegrated belt and replaced it with another I had on hand. It's probably a little too tight resulting in the warbley sound. Not sure Please inspect all the photos as they are the final descrption of condition. The video shows that the unit itself is working. That small white plastic piece that aids in the alignment of both sides of the load mechanism is broken. Meanwhile - it's a 4 head mono machine with editing features. Test Tape not included These 3 pieces is the only items I will ship. I made no attempt to disassemble the unit to remove the part. I understand that there are people out there that terminally screw up an amateur attempt at a repair then after much was damaged - sell it off as-is. I am selling this unit with full disclosure. The display seemingly did mnot light up - but it does work, it's just very dim. The pics taken will probably show it to be a little brighter than it actually is.
