Description: WALTHERS HO Scale Ready-To-Run PULLMAN STREAMLINED10-6 SLEEPER Car Out-Of-Production DISCONTINUED By the Manufacturer When lightweight cars came to the Pullman fleet in the early 1940s, their smooth sides lent themselves to classy, colorful paint schemes. Corrugated stainless-steel sides, later added to match the look (and acknowledge the competition) of Budd's stainless-steel designs, created a variety of cars that ran on premier passenger trains. Walthers Pullman-Standard cars feature as many as four body styles; smooth or fluted sides, with or without skirting as appropriate for each roadname. They ride on GSC 41-N trucks with die cast sideframes and blackened-metal wheelsets. Other features include flush-fitting windows, full interiors, working diaphragms, magnetic knuckle couplers and car number and name decals. The car bodies have molded-in drill starter points that make installing the supplied wire grab irons easier. All cars, unless noted, have built-in provisions for the Walthers Passenger Car Interior Lighting Kits: DC Version 933-1049 and DCC Version 933-1084 (both sold separately).Walthers Pullman-Standard cars bring variety to HO Scale passenger trains with all-new models matching the performance and detailing or our popular Budd passenger cars. Offer your railroad's passengers a choice of sleeping accommodations. These 1940s-era sleepers featured 10 roomettes and 6 double bedrooms, ideal for comfortable overnight travel. Typical of post-war streamlined designs, these cars helped railroads increase profits on short and medium distance runs. By reworking the interior with smaller washrooms and placing seats closer together, more passengers could be carried per trip. These models include all the features found on Walthers passenger cars and will be offered in both fluted or smoothside versions, as well as with or without side skirts to match prototype practice. Decals with additional car numbers are provided to expand your fleet.
