Description: This is a fine Soviet Russian Tank Officer’s visor hat that is in excellent condition. The upper is constructed of light brown wool and piped in red cord at the crown. The hatband is black velvet and is also piped in red cord at the top. Affixed to the front of the hatband is a radiated enameled Soviet star insignia superimposed with hammer and sickle. The oil cloth chinstrap is held firmly in place by two brass hammer and sickle buttons at the sides. The black celluloid visor is stitched firmly in place and is without damage. The interior is lined with ivory colored satin in the dome and has a diamond shaped sweat shield sewn in the center. The dark gray leather sweatband has all stitching intact and is sewn firmly in place. The size ‘54’ appears in white ink in front of the sweat shield. The hat retains a beautiful shape and remains a fine-looking example in excellent condition.8736
