Description: Badge of a Sailor of a Soviet Nuclear Strategic Missile Submarine issued in 1991 in Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Submarine’s Commissioning. This is GUARANTEED ORIGINAL badge from 1991, not a replica or later reissue!Made in brass with high-quality hot-baked enamels, measures 21.5 mm tall x 41.9 mm wide. Two-piece construction: the submarine with the red scroll showing the dates “1971-1991” and white numeral “20” is a separate superimposed part. Judging by the profile of the sub, it was one of the ballistic missile “boomers” of the Soviet Project 667 Navaga (NATO designation Yankee I). The badge may have been issued to a current crewman of one of the three subs of this class commissioned in 1971: K-403, K-245, or K-214. Note that the latter of the three was decommissioned in 1991 while the first one, renamed Kazan, remained on active service in the Russian Navy until 2004.The badge is in Excellent Condition. A great piece to add to a collection of Soviet submarine or navy badges.FREE SHIPPING (USPS 1st cl. Mail) WITHIN USA ONLY! We WILL NOT ship our eBay items outside USA.
