Introductions to both volumes by writer/editor Roy Thomas. Volume I, ISBN 0441116922, with a preface by Stan Lee, contains the first three Marvel Comics issues of Conan the Barbarian originally published in single comics form 1970-1971: The Coming of Conan; The Lair of the Beast-Men; and The Twilight of the Grim Grey God. This copy is in very good condition. The binding is supple and the spine is uncreased. The covers are glossy and clean, exhibiting just minor edge and corner wear, and a few impressions. Note the crease running the length of the front cover along the spine edge from over-opening.Volume III, ISBN 0441116949, contains issues 7, 8, and 9, originally published in single comics form in 1971: The Lurker Within; The Keepers of the Crypt; and The Garden of Fear. This copy is in very good condition as well, but note the minor crease to the spine. The binding is somewhat less supple than that of volume I.
