Although this is listed as "Used", in reality it is still in virtually new condition as it was purchased as a collector's item by a great fan of Star Trek and the cards were never removed from their sleeves nor the sleeves from the binder. The binder itself is in excellent condition, except for a slight curvature in the first few plastic pages due to the way it was stored after the owner's death, very slight wear on the tip of each of the corners, and some aging of the plastic sleeves which does not interfere with the protection of the cards. The individual cards remain in mint condition, still in their own original protective covers, completely clean, no fingerprints. They are labeled and housed four to a page each in a single slot in alphabetic order by character name in the original fifteen leaves of the binder in which they were sent. Each card shows the picture and name of the character or ship and which series they are from (Star Trek The Original, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, etc.) on the front of the card, and on the back a more complete and detailed description of the character and their role in the series. Note: Be advised that these cards are the size of standard trading cards and the print on the back of the cards is in a very small font - probably about an 8 pt font (for comparison to give you some idea, this is 13 pt font and this is what a 10 point font looks like) also remember that the gold plating is very shiny. I mention this just so you are prepared for the fact that the cards may be more difficult than anticipated to read. This doesn't in anyway detract from their beauty, however, and their true value lies in the scope and variety of depictions of classic Star Trek characters that true lovers of Star Trek will enjoy reminiscing about for many years. This binder is a genuine treasure, because there are very few places in which you can still find these characters and their cards all together in the same collection - Captain James Kirk as a young upstart rising star out of the academy just a few pages away from the seasoned Captain Kirk of the original Star Trek Enterprise; Captain Jean-Paul Pickard and Riker, his No. 2; the Romulans and their warbirds only pages away from the Borg and 5 of 9. There are smaller collections around with limited numbers of characters but this is a rare complete binder; very few are still on the market at this low price that contain the full 60-card complement of characters from all the Star Trek series that were on the air up to 2009.
