Description: Sterling Silver Petrified Wood Ring 7.5g Sz 7.75 Agatized/Mineralized Teardrop. Pre-owned. Shipped USPS first class. A very good condition sterling silver ring with a beautiful teardrop petrified wood cabochon. It is a gorgeous agatized/mineralized 'stone' with an olive tone along with pink dots and green stripes. The growth lines from the tree are visible where the minerals have slowly replaced organic matter at the cellular level over millions of years underground. It is highly polished and looks great. It has great character with a few spots on the surface that look like a piece of 'bark' dislodged. Those spots give it depth and you can see the quality of the polished surface. It's really remarkable that this took between 20 and 300 million years underground for mother nature to create. It's really an amazing cabochon. It measures approximately 20.8 x 14.7mm. The silver has a very good polish and the band measures 3mm wide at the rear. A few of the prongs are slightly crooked. Stamped 925 and I believe I see a very faded undetermined maker's mark.
