Ruth was married to artist Stanley Swain and lived by Los Angeles California. She studied art with teachers Stanley Reckless, Millard Sheets, Jean Charlot, Leo Katz and Merrell Gage. She taught art at Chouinard Art School. This is a wonderful painting full of depth and realism. I feel like it's a quiet Sunday morning, sitting at a beautiful table with a display of fruit, eating a grapefruit, you can almost smell the grapefruit. Classically painted. Great artist. 22"x28.5". Painting is in great condition. Was not examined outside of frame. Frame has wear see photos.
