Description: Septarian "Lightning" Stone This set has hand harvested ethically by me, in Southwest, Michigan. These pieces of history, were found in the summer on 2024. They come straight to you from the Lake, just as they would be if you picked up one! They have not been cleaned with harsh chemicals, only rinsed off and lightly cleaned with mineral oil. A set weighs at least a pound. The number of stones will vary in each set but will typically contain 3-4 stones. I do have many small stones and some stones that weigh a pound alone. This is one type of stone that is found only in certain areas of Southwestern Michigan and very few other places around the world, each unique to it's specific geological origin. Septarian stones are typically brown due to the iron content. Composed mainly of mud and clay that formed on the ocean floor around 50 million years ago, at some point, perhaps from dehydration, the stones cracked. Later, calcite infiltrated the open veins via ground water, gradually filling them in. Septarian is a stone of connection, both to others and to the spiritual realm. It is thought to be helpful for those who are struggling with addiction or who are in recovery. Septarian is also said to be beneficial for emotional healing.
