Strange Tales #178 - Appears to be in the Very Good (VG) range: 2" color breaking crease down Adam Warlock's chest and some color loss around his belt area. 1" color loss near top left corner of cover. Accumulation of other minor bits of wear. No Thanos. Jim Starlin writer, artist, colorist. Strange Tales #179 - Appears to be in the Fine (FN) range: 1/8" tear at right edge of front cover connected to 1" color-breaking crease. Spine tics and finger dents. No Thanos. 1st Pip the Troll. Starlin story & art. Strange Tales #180 - Broad Very Good range: 1/2" tear around the top staple on the front cover. The back cover is still attached to this staple. Diagnosed with a 1/2" inset spine split, the comic could grade VG/FN. However, if the back cover came loose at this top staple, the grade would go down to Good/Very Good 1/8" triangle chipped piece missing from bottom right corner of front cover and first page; the rest of the comic pages and back cover are slightly dinged of a similar size in this area. No Thanos. 1st Gamora. Starlin story, art, and colors. Strange Tales #181 - Appears to be in the Very Good (VG) range: Red inks on front cover appear slightly faded. Accumulation of minor flaws. No Thanos. Starlin story, pencils, and colors. Warlock #9 - Good/Very Good (GD/VG): Cover detached at top staple. Light soiling to cover. Thanos. Jim Starlin story, pencils, & colors. Warlock #10 - Appears Very Fine (VF): 1/16" nick at bottom of front cover. A couple of light finger dents can be seen on very close inspection, but no significant flaws, nothing that breaks color. This is a very nice copy. Thanos. Jim Starlin story, pencils, & colors. Warlock #11 - Graded Fine (FN) by mycomicshop: 1 1/4" crease at top of front cover and first few pages. Spine tics. Thanos. Jim Starlin story, pencils, & colors. Warlock #12 - Appears to be in the Very Good (VG) range: A couple of small tears on back cover (one a 1/2", the other about 1/4"). 8" crease down the top right corner of the comic next to a dent. 8" bend down bottom left corner of back cover. Spine stress, dents, and other spots of wear to cover. Corners at right side show some wear. No Thanos. Jim Starlin story & layout. Warlock #13 - Good (GD): Missing top staple. 1 3/4" interior tears at the top of a couple pages. A couple pages have 1/2" chunks missing from top margin. It appears there was a mishap at the printer because these tears are connected to extra flaps of paper that should've been cut. The comic is still complete and readable. No Thanos. Jim Starlin story & layout. Warlock #14 - Sold as Fine (FN) by LCS and that seems fair: 1/4" tear at bottom front cover. Top right corner of many pages have tiny 1/8" chips. I'd say this is a minor flaw in the original cutting of the book. Spine tics. No Thanos. Jim Starlin story & layout. Warlock #15 - Appears Fine (FN), although LCS sold as Very Good (VG), but I don't see why they graded so low: A little wear to right side of front cover, but not much breaking color. Thanos. Jim Starlin Story & art. Avengers Annual #7 - Appears Good/Very Good (GD/VG): Bottom staple detached at first page. A couple tiny pinholes can be seen on close inspection of cover. Lots of cover wear and some soiling showing on back cover. Thanos. Starlin story & pencils. Marvel Two-in-One Annual #2 - Appears in the Very Good range (VG): Bottom staple detached at first page. Minor soiling to front & back cover. Thanos. Starlin story & pencils.
