Description: measures 17" x 12" x 6". Sometimes you want an incredible objet d'arte. Sometimes you also want to be known as that person who owns THE GREATEST DECANTER EVER. You're in luck. This incredible Patricia Camets (1962 Peru) work is dated from 1985, but there are echoes in the organic forms to pieces she's creating to this day in Peru and being sold in New York and London galleries for 2 to 10 thousand dollars... her work is well represented and numerous high profile articles about her are easily found. Huacamets figurals, beautiful commentary on the disposability and wastes of our cultures, fun physical reflections on communication and the paredoilia of emoticons... Camet's work still remains playful with a taste of her Peruvian culture, a fun consistency to this work from 35 years ago. The last image is a piece from about 15 years after the vessel for auction. (it is not included in this auction and is only there for reference). Patricia Camet is a Peruvian artist born in New York in 1962. She holds a Masters Degree in Art from the School of Design in Rhode Island. She lives and works in Lima. Patricia Camets work consistently reflects on the problems caused by our patterns of excessive consumption, our impact on the environment, and our new forms of communication. She becomes an archaeologist of the present, producing iconic objects from our material culture of instant gratification. By sanctifying everyday objects and landscapes familiar to her, she poetically reveals the challenges of our accelerated lives and the consequences that we dont take the time to understand. Playful and tender, the works of Patricia Camet should also be understood as an educational project of universal scope.
