Description: SUPER RARE Avid Media Composer Apple Macintosh Alps Switch ADB Keyboard MEADB-XX People rave and fiend over Alps switches in a very few Apple keyboards, well, this is the real deal, Alps switches and.....well, the whole thing is Alps, sold as Avid branded in 1996. Sealed in an airtight flight case in total darkness for 19 years. I just cracked open a flight case not opened since a few seconds in 2011, and this has been bubble wrapped in there since 2005, so it has been in total darkness inside an airtight sealed flight case for 19 years. This is a major reason that gear from Synhouse is better than anyone else's. I have brought home three very, VERY rare Mac ADB keyboards to sell (there are 3-4 more in there now, somewhat less rare, this and a few other things were all I could carry, it took three visits to locate, unstack, turn around, and get that Avid Calzone flight case trunk open, and then I had to climb out with all I could carry, including a few PCI cards from Atto and some rare Avid cables), and this is one of them. "Assembled in Czech Republic". This is a very RARE keyboard that was originally sold by Avid as an Avid branded keyboard as part of a $100,000 Avid Media Composer system. This is an Alps ADB Keyboard that Alps made for Apple, model number MEADB-XX. This will work with a Quadra 8100 tower (which was the basis of the Avid system it was used with), but will also work with anything that has an ADB (Apple Desktop Bus) port (Quadra 950, Power Mac 7100, 7200, 7300, 7500, 7600, 8100, 8500, 8600, 9600, any type of Mac II, and many, many more Macs with ADB). This keyboard is in beautiful condition. It has a power switch to power on your Mac from the keyboard, and a built-in ADB cable. This keyboard has been tested by Synhouse using a PowerMac 9600, with my "QWERTY 1234567890" test as you see in the photos. This should work with most any 1990s-era Mac. It will not work by connecting to a USB port. Cosmetically, it is excellent, just look at the photos. Does not appear to have any UV yellowing, because it was in total darkness inside an airtight sealed flight case for 19 years. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The item is as described in the title and as shown in the photos.
