Description: Agatized coral from Tampa Bay in Florida. It is found in only three main Florida locations: Tampa Bay, the Econfina river, and the Withlacoochee/Suwannee river beds. I found this specimen on Honeymoon Island State Park but it came from Tampa Bay where, in the 60s, it was dredged and deposited in the park. Beach renourishment in the 2010s covered most of it over but it can still be found in a few places, although not as plentiful as it once was.
