Description: Up for grabs is a perfectly working half-track professional reel-to-reel Tascam model 32 (photos 1-to-10) Capture and saturate your creativity on analog tape and get amazing results. The specimen featured here was fully operational even before it was put out of commission some years ago and sat idly ever since. Leading up to posting, this piece of analog superiority machine received a barrage of much needed TLC including but not limited to: replaced better capstan belt, lubricated all moving parts to insure smooth operation, deoxit pertinent switches & electronics for improved conductivity and contact. Replaced new vu lamps “red”…I thought it’ll be cool! And in spite minimal superficial but inconspicuous nicks & dings consistent with age of classic gear (and sustained from lugging this beast around during its glory days) the unit has been detailed clean & buffed every crevice every line to almost showroom aesthetic state and you’ll be hard-pressed to find another given much attention of care is tremendously invested. Bench tested and everything functions correctly, recording quality is second-to-none as expected of a tape-based mastering reel-deck. Also selling separately, is an equally fantastic looking Classic, the Otari 5050-B2 HD professional open-reel deck (photos 11-to-19, video clip image #2, $2999) Sparingly used over the years but for the most part retired at the helm of digital revolution and inactive quietly sitting in my storage until the epochal return of analog superiority in sound & dynamics proved to be inescapable. Prior posting, the specimen presented here undertook hours of refurbishing process. Deoxit and lubricated all pertinent electrical, mechanical parts to ensure proper contact including control panel, tact-switches, low/high tape speed, edit, pitch control etc and respond accordingly. Moreover, cleaned tape path, demagnetized head block, capstan rubber to eliminate noise build up. Hand buffed, detailed clean every pots, every crevice & every line of this magnificent device to arrive in this close to museum condition of an analog superiority machine. The low/high speed is currently set to 7-ips and 3-3/4-ips but I can set the speed to 15-ips and 7-ips if desired for much superior fidelity recording result. Bench tested in good-bill-of-health (rewind, fast forward, play, record etc) Recording and playback sound excellent and warm expected of a high quality tape-based analog machine. Like any vintage gears, traces of some minimal virtually inconspicuous signs of wear due to age is almost always expected, but in no way impede or even deflect your appreciation for it's aesthetic beauty resulted from subsequent meticulous work invested. You'll be hard pressed to find another of this exceptional state no doubt. INCLUDED: take up reel The last photo is a vintage classic 1981 Winnebego in running condition is also for sale locally.
